The Resort Municipality of Whistler has started accepting applications for Cannabis retail permits. The application period opened at 9 am today and will continue until March 13 at 4 pm.

Applications can be submitted via email to planning@whistler.ca or dropped off in-person to the Planning Department in Municipal Hall.
Only one application per business operator will be accepted, and submission does not guarantee approval. Council can approve up to five cannabis retail stores, one in each of these areas: The Village, Village North, Creekside, Function Junction and Nesters Plaza.
However, submitting an application does not guarantee approval, says RMOW. In addition to zoning and bylaw requirements, permit applications for cannabis retail stores must demonstrate alignment with Whistler’s cannabis retail policy and must be approved by Council.
Council can approve one cannabis retail store in each TUP area, up to a maximum of five stores in Whistler. RMOW council adopted the Cannabis retail policy for cannabis retail stores in Whistler at a January 10, 2023 meeting.
