A new Vancouver-based company is planning a ten-acre wellness and lifestyle resort in Pemberton. The resort will include condos, a hotel, restaurants, and a wellness centre.

VIRTU Resorts&Residences has exclusive agreements secured for Portugal and Norway and is considering expanding to Canadian locations, including Pemberton, said Heather Kirk, the resort’s communication official. VIRTU defines itself as a ‘privately-owned’ boutique Canadian company pioneering sustainable luxury real estate and resort development, bridging scientific innovation with natural healing traditions to redefine lifestyle medicine.

“Combined, its executive team has been involved in hundreds of luxury developments and is bringing their award-winning experience together to build and operate differently. We are in negotiations to build in several prime locations internationally,” Kirk said.

“Once we determine feasible land, we will apply for zoning for development with 100 signature investment condos, an 80-room premier hotel, a 30,000 sq ft wellness pavilion, meeting spaces, restaurants and more,” she said. “We look forward to announcing site-specific details once our negotiations are complete.”

The company’s founder and CEO Sandi Lesueur first presented before the Village of Pemberton in December last year. Along with a hotel, 100 condo units and a wellness studio, VIRTU is also planning a wine cellar, a tasting room, an art gallery, retail shops, three restaurants, lounges, a juice bar and a café. An indoor theatre and library are also part of this proposal.

VIRTU hopes to serve people seeking sustainable wellness and lifestyle medicine in this location, especially with a focus on performance sports. Kirk said ten acres is optimal, and the company is raising capital from private and impact investors.
