Police are asking for the public’s help to find Illya Rechytskyy, 65, who went missing Tuesday evening along the Cheakamus River.
Sea to Sky RCMP said Rechytskyy was last spotted around 5 p.m. on July 1 near the Cheakamus River bridge, south of Whistler Village. Officers described him as a Caucasian man with grey hair, wearing blue-purple shorts at the time of his disappearance.
Mounties have not released further details about where Rechytskyy might have been heading. Search teams and officers were combing the area Wednesday. Anyone who saw Rechytskyy or has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Whistler RCMP detachment at 604-932-3044.
