Pemberton Valley transit fare changes, starting tomorrow

Gagandeep Ghuman
April 16, 2026 8:01am

BC Transit is advising customers of a fare change for the Pemberton Valley Transit System, effective April 19, 2026.

The change follows a fare review conducted in 2025 by BC Transit and the Village of Pemberton, reflecting increasing operating costs. The fare update was approved by the Village Council in consultation with the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District and Líl̓wat Nation. This is the first fare change since 2010.

Fare Updates

As part of the change, fare options will be streamlined into a universal single-ride fare for all riders on both local fixed routes and the Pemberton Commuter. Removing the concession single-ride option will simplify boarding, particularly for riders using contactless tap-to-pay.

New Pass for Travel to Whistler

A new Dual DayPASS will replace the Pemberton Commuter DayPASS. The pass allows unlimited travel on the Pemberton Commuter between Pemberton and Whistler, as well as on all routes in the Whistler Transit System and the Pemberton Transit System.

Available through the Umo Mobility App, options include:

Dual DayPASS (1 day): $12

Dual 30-Day Pass: $130

New Employer Transit Program

ProPASS will also be introduced as an employer-based transit benefit program. Participating employers can offer staff discounted, unlimited transit travel through payroll deductions. Employees receive access through the Umo Mobility App or an Umo card.
