Deadly Whistler shooting: Two arrested by police

July 24, 2022 5:35pm

Whistler RCMP has confirmed that two people were  arrested in connection with the shooting incident in Whistler today.

Police also confirmed that two people died from shots that were fired near the Sundial Hotel. While one man died at the scene, the second succumbed to injuries at a local medical clinic.

The police have not yet determined if this incident and a recently located burned car found in the Blueberry area are related, or if the firing is related to ongoing gang conflict.

“I’m confident with the work done by our investigators that there remains no risk to community safety,” says Inspector Robert Dyskstra, Officer in Charge of the Sea to Sky RCMP.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the above file to contact the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the http://www.solvecrime.ca
