staff report
September 21, 2022 6:20am

Tipping fees at the Pemberton Transfer Station will increase as of November 1 this year.

The Whistler Daily Post is a new, independent online newspaper for Whistler and Pemberton.

The Pemberton Transfer Station tipping fees were last increased in 2016. The new fees for the household waste is as follows:

Small bag (40 L or ≤ 9 kg): Rate will be $1.50

Large bag (80 L or ≤ 18 kg ): $3

Loose/unbagged (minimum charge $5) $165.00 per tonne

The complete list of the tipping fees increase can be seen here.

The 2022 bylaw revision includes adjustments to the fees and charges that more accurately reflect current costs and service levels. They also align with the disposal costs across the region and encouraging diversion, said SLRD.

The proposed Pemberton Transfer Station Fees and Charges Regulation bylaw was presented at the July 14  meeting of the Pemberton Valley Utilities and Services.

It was subsequently approved by the SLRD Board on July 27.
