Police caution after woman threatens to leak Lillooet man’s nude video

staff report
October 11, 2022 4:14pm

Lillooet RCMP is investigating a local man’s complaint of being extorted by a woman and are issued a word of caution to the community to be on guard against online scams.

A local man told police that on October 2, he met a woman online through Facebook. This meeting eventually lead to video chatting in which the woman provoked the man into appearing nude on camera, which he did.

Later, the woman threatened to share the video with his friends and family if he did not send her money. The man has now reported the incident to police and says he hasn’t sent her any money. At the time of the report, the woman had not yet shared the video with any friends or family. The man was advised to block the woman’s profile on Facebook and avoid chatting with strangers online.
