The Resort Municipality of Whistler will be accepting applications for Cannabis retail permits from February 13, at 9 am until March 13 at 4 pm.

Only one application per business operator will be accepted, and submission does not guarantee approval. Council can approve up to five cannabis retail stores, one in each of these areas: the Village, Village North, Creekside, Function Junction and Nesters Plaza.

Those who want to apply will be required to obtain a Cannabis Retail TUP and business licence from the RMOW, in addition to a Cannabis Retail Store licence from the Liquor board. The RMOW will review LCRB Cannabis Retail Store licence referrals after a complete TUP application has been accepted.

RMOW council adopted the Cannabis retail policy for cannabis retail stores in Whistler at a January 10, 2023 meeting. Applicants must demonstrate alignment with Cannabis Retail Policy G-27 and must be approved by Council.
