A travel advisory is in effect for the Sea to Sky Highway. DriveBC has issued an advisory for those planning to travel between Exit 3 in West Vancouver and Pemberton.

With heavy snowfall, travelers should expect rapidly deteriorating conditions and be prepared for closures on short notice. Consider changing travel plans and travel only if it’s absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, the highway is closed south of Function Junction due to vehicle incident, and there are reports of accidents on the highway at Britannia Beach and Porteau Cove.

A special weather statement is in effect with periods of heavy snow continuing into Sunday morning. Snow accumulations up to 30 cm are possible over very short durations. On provincial highways across the south coast, maintenance contractors are proactively applying anti-icing brine, and will plow and sand to manage snow accumulations, says the province.
