On the evening of April 28, Whistler RCMP officers were on foot patrol when they suspected that a driver was impaired. When asked to pull over, the man drove away but was later found passed out in the car by police officers.

When woken up, he refused to provide a breath sample. He also didn’t have a valid drivers licence. A 90-day driving prohibition was issued and his car was impounded for 30 days. He will also appear in court at a future date.
Tools stolen from vehicle
Whistler RCMP are also investigating theft from an unlocked vehicle that took place on April 28. The car was parked in an underground lot in the 4200 block of Gateway Drive. Hitachi and Milwaukee tools, including drills, impact drivers, charging cables, and batter packs worth $2,700 were stolen.
Bike theft
On April 27, police received a report of mountain bike theft from the 4300 Blackcomb Way area. The bike is a 2018 GT Fury Garbo edition with a light blue frame and was secured inside a staff locker. Video surveillance captured the thief, described as a 25-35 years old man, about 167 cms tall, 150 pounds with tattoos on his hands and wearing a red sweater.
The suspect is believed to have left Whistler with the bike by commercial bus on April 28 at around 7.
