RMOW calls upon the community to come together on Sunday, December 31, and usher in the new year with a sense of wonder, connection, and the magic of a non-alcoholic celebration in Whistler Village. Start the day with meditation and intention setting and end it with dazzling fireworks.
At 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Whistler Village will come alive with a glowing spectacle called The Luminosity Parade, featuring dynamic performances by LED-clad dancers, stilt walkers, and jugglers. You don’t want to miss the Luminosity Parade at 8 p.m.! You’ll see LED-clad dancers, stilt walkers, and jugglers, and you are invited to join in the procession with your lanterns, LED accessories, or flashlights.
How to Join the Festivities
To participate, gather at the Whistler Conference Centre at 7:45 p.m. with your crafted lantern, LED accessories, or a even a simple flashlight. The parade route will wind from the Whistler Conference Centre to Skier’s Plaza on the Whistler Village Stroll between 8 and 8:30 pm. However, the duration may vary based on weather conditions and the number of participants.
For those preferring to watch, feel free to join the crowd along the Village Stroll and follow the excitement to Skier’s Plaza for the Fire & Ice show. The entire experience is free. After the Luminosity Parade, the festivities continue at Skier’s Plaza with the Fire & Ice Show. Witness a breathtaking display of pyrotechnics, live entertainment, and world-class freestyle skiing and riding featuring the talents of Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s finest pros.
The Grand Finale: New Year’s Eve Fireworks
Capping off the celebrations at 9 p.m., the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular promises a dazzling early-evening display that paints the sky with vibrant colours, marking the beginning of the final countdown to midnight. RMOW reminds that there are no midnight fireworks scheduled. The free transit service will run all day, with extra buses added as needed, ensuring everyone can get to and from the festivities safely.
