Crews search for climbers missing from Garibaldi Provincial Park

staff report
June 2, 2024 6:01pm

Crews continue to search for three mountain climbers who were reported missing from Garibaldi Provincial Park on May 31.

The Squamish RCMP and Squamish Search and Rescue teams have launched an extensive search operation to locate the missing climbers. However, their efforts have been significantly hindered by severe weather conditions. Heavy rain and strong winds have made the search difficult and created extreme avalanche risks in the area, Squamish RCMP said in a press release.

No further information has been released regarding the identities of the missing climbers or the specifics of their planned route in Garibaldi Park. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
