The Whistler Housing Authority has set rental rates for The Hemlock project. The newest WHA rental building, The Hemlocks, is nearing completion at 1450 Mount Fee Road in Cheakamus Crossing.
Rental rates at this new Whistler Housing Authority project will be tied to 30% of gross household incomes, starting at $1450 for Studios, $1850 for one-bedrooms, and $2425 for two-bedrooms. Secure underground parking will be an additional $60 per month.
WHA says the 48-unit apartment building will provide a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments designed with energy efficiency and accessibility. All units include a patio or deck, storage room, access to secure underground parking and bike storage, and laundry facilities. The Hemlocks’ occupancy date is expected to be October 2024.
Construction is also underway for an additional 104 Employee Rental units across the road at 1475 Mount Fee Road, with projected completion in mid-2026. The Whistler Housing Authority has also announced that construction is underway on The Landing, an employee-restricted townhome project in the Nordics.
In a press release, WHA said buyers will submit interest in June 2024, presales are expected in August 2024, and the building will be completed between November 2024 and January 2025.
The Landing is located at 2077 Garibaldi Way, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Nordic. It will feature 14 price-restricted 3-bedroom townhomes as part of a 20-residence development. The rest of the six townhomes will be sold at market prices. The 3-level townhome features three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a balcony, storage space, in-home laundry and a single-car garage.
These three-bedroom townhouses range from 1,370 sq ft to 1,400 sq ft and will be priced from $800,000.
