Capilano University has announced the addition of three programs for the Spring 2025 term at its new campus in Squamish. The University’s Squamish campus will open for its inaugural term in September 2024.

The newly added CapU Squamish Spring term programs starting in January 2025 are:

  • Business Administration Certificate
  • Business Administration Diploma
  • Global Hospitality & Tourism Management Post-Baccalaureate Diploma

“These offerings are a natural fit for CapU Squamish. They were curated for learners looking to enter into careers, complement existing work with new knowledge, or change career paths,” notes Laureen Styles, vice president, academic & provost at Capilano University.

“The Sea-to-Sky corridor is an ideal backdrop for applied learning, skills development and work-integrated learning in tourism, hospitality and business,” adds Brian Storey, associate vice president CapU Squamish.

“Students will have access to one of the country’s most vibrant tourism industries, as well as emerging businesses and organizations focused on sustainability and an entrepreneurial spirit – all while they learn in the majestic settings of Squamish, Whistler and surrounding communities.”

The new Spring 2025 offerings are in addition to the following programs that will begin in the Fall 2024 term:

  • Adult Basic Education
  • Associate of Arts Degree (curated select courses, including those focused on the environment and sustainability)
  • Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Care and Education Degree
  • Early Childhood Care & Education Diploma
  • Tourism Management Co-operative Education Diploma

In a press release, the University said students who chose to join CapU in Squamish will benefit from small classes, individualized support, active and engaging learning experiences drawing on place, and a curated selection of programs and courses.

Applications for all 2024-25 CapU Squamish programs and courses are open now. Applications are also open for on-campus student housing in Squamish. In May, the University purchased three student housing facilities and offers guaranteed on-campus housing to any student who enrolls at the Squamish campus for Fall 2024.
