Police seek help to find $6,000 artwork stolen in Whistler

The Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a piece of art stolen in Whistler between August 24 and August 25, 2024.

On August 25, 2024 the Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP received a report that the art had been stolen from the lobby of a building located at 1420 Alpha Lake Road in Whistler.  The art, a hard acrylic canvass, is a painting of a photograph from a local artist and is valued at approximately $6,000.

“We are releasing a photograph of the stolen painting so that the public can be on the lookout for this piece of art and in the chance that somebody may have seen it already and know of its whereabouts,” said Constable Katrina Boehmer, Media Relations Officer for Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP.

Anyone with any information regarding the theft of this art, or any other crime, is asked to contact the Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca.
