In January 2023, the Sea to Sky (Whistler) RCMP General Investigation Section began an investigation into reports that a man allegedly filmed sexual acts without his partners’ consent. Michael Philip English, an STPS officer, was charged on September 25, 2024, with three counts of voyeurism in connection to alleged off-duty offences in Pemberton and Vancouver, British Columbia, between 2020 and 2022.
A publication ban has been issued to protect the identities of those involved. English is set to make his first court appearance on October 2, 2024, in North Vancouver Provincial Court.
“The Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP wants to acknowledge the individuals who came forward to provide information and were patient through this lengthy investigation,” said Sergeant Jeffrey Shore, NCO i/c Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section. “Our priority is the safety and well being of victims, and our team remains committed to standing with them and supporting them through the Court process.”
