Whistler is set to kick off the winter season with its annual Winterlight event on Friday, November 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olympic Plaza. This festive gathering will feature an array of illuminated displays, including large-scale inflatable arches and lighting installations, designed to bring warmth and brightness to the winter night.

Attendees can enjoy live music, seasonal treats, and various interactive activities suitable for all ages.

The event will also coincide with the lights of Whistler’s Village Stroll, adding to the ambiance and creating a vibrant setting for families and friends to come together.

The outdoor skating rink at Olympic Plaza will be open for the evening, allowing visitors to skate under the glow of holiday lights. Admission to the event is free, although skate rentals are available for a fee. Organizers recommend dressing warmly and in layers, as all activities will be outdoors, and they encourage attendees to use public transportation or carpool to minimize parking congestion.

Pets are welcome but should be leashed, and attendees are reminded that drones, smoking, and alcohol are prohibited on-site to maintain a safe environment. Limited treats will be available for purchase, with visitors encouraged to support local restaurants by bringing takeout to enjoy at the event.

Whistler Winterlight will take place rain or snow, with event updates available through official channels and the Go Whistler Tours app.
