Whistler Blackcomb opens for the summer on Friday, May 16, with new alpine attractions and a focus on wellness and family-friendly fun, according to a press release from the resort.
This season’s headline additions include the Nourish wellness series and alpine axe throwing—two new offerings under the popular Summer Alpine Experience, officially launching June 14. As the press release notes, the Nourish series will run from May 31 to June 29 and feature mountaintop yoga, meditation, sound baths, speaker sessions, and culinary workshops inside a geodesic dome atop the Roundhouse Lodge. The program is being offered in partnership with Tourism Whistler.
Also new this year: Forged Axe Throwing will open two stations at the top of Whistler Mountain, offering visitors aged 10 and up a chance to test their aim every Friday through Sunday beginning June 14. “We’re excited to offer a range of new and returning experiences, for all ages and abilities, that will make this summer in the Whistler Blackcomb alpine truly unforgettable,” said Belinda Trembath, Chief Operating Officer at Whistler Blackcomb.
According to the press release, summer operations also include the return of “Whismas”—the seasonal opening of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The Fitz Zone opens May 16, with the full park launching June 14 alongside upgrades to A-Line, Ninja Cougar, and Crank It Up, plus an extension of Pumpkin Moon and new Commencal bikes in the rental fleet.
Major events are also back, including the Phat Wednesday race series, BC Cup, Canada Cup, and Crankworx, which returns to Whistler from August 8 to 17. For sightseeing, the Whistler Village Gondola and PEAK 2 PEAK will begin limited weekend service on May 17, with Blackcomb Gondola opening for the May long weekend before a brief closure for scheduled maintenance.
The full Summer Alpine Experience will feature a wide mix of offerings, including bear viewing tours, the Mountaintop Summer Feast, the Whistler Farmers’ Market, and guided glacier tours. Off-mountain activities such as ziplining, ATV rides, and via ferrata climbs are also included, the resort notes.
Early bird rates for summer lift tickets and mountain bike passes are now available through June 13. The resort also encourages guests to secure their 2025–26 Epic Passes before prices increase on May 26. As the press release notes, passholders will receive summer perks like 20% off bike rentals, lodging, and dining.
