BC is encouraging people and especially parents to get their kids vaccinated against influenza before the holidays.
In Whistler, VCH is offering walk-in influenza clinics Dec. 10, 13 and 16, as part of government’s efforts to support people and families with children to get vaccinated before the holidays.

The clinic has been set up at the Whistler Health Care Centre for all ages for Influenza vaccine only
December 10
10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
December 13
9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
December 16
9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
There is no need to call ahead or make an appointment and people can simply show up with their BC Services Card, though an appointment can also be made through the Get Vaccinated system.

Influenza and COVID-19 immunizations are free for everyone six months and older, and they are safe with mild side-effects that are typically very mild and go away on their own within a few days.
Many children have not been exposed to influenza and other respiratory illnesses following two years of low influenza rates due to COVID-19 public-health prevention measures implemented worldwide, including Canada and B.C. This is why it’s especially important for children to get vaccinated against influenza now.
