Lillooet RCMP have arrested a man for allegedly spraying bear spray on another man.
On April 8 at 2 am, a woman reported an assault, telling police that a bear spray had been deployed in a residence in Bridge River. Police attended and found the male suspect who immediately surrendered to police. The man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells.
Police say the victim of the alleged spraying was inside the home, trying to ‘decontaminate’ himself. The victim and other witnesses on scene were all intoxicated. Police called upon the victim next afternoon, but he said he wasn’t interested in pursuing charges and wished to move on.

On March 30 at 6 pm, a woman reported seeing a woman passed out on a bench at Downton Park. Police located a woman who smelled of alcohol, sleeping on a bench. Police arranged for a friend to pickup the woman. On March 31 at 1 pm, a woman reported seeing 2-5 people drinking at the Miyazaki house on Russell lane. Police arrived but couldn’t find anyone at the Miyazaki house.
On April 3, while on patrol, officers observed a man with open alcohol at Downton Park. When police came, the man had closed the alcohol bottle and put it in his backpack. Police directed the man to pour the alcohol out. The man was able to care for himself and departed the area.
