Local Search and Rescue teams are working to locate 80-year-old Robert McKean, who was last seen on October 9th 2023, around 10:20 am at the top of Alpine Way.
Robert is described as 5 ft 6 inch, 130 lbs, slim build and was last seen wearing a green Jacket, a a baseball cap, blue jeans, and a blue Canucks hoodie. He was last seen walking his dog, a white/ginger Cavalier Spaniel named “Lexi”. Whistler SAR, Sea to Sky – Whistler RCMP, IPDS and Whistler Fire Services searched into the night yesterday and will continue the search today alongside Squamish and Pemberton SAR teams, police said in a press release.
Police are requesting the public allow SAR teams to conduct a thorough search of the Upper Alpine neighbourhood today and the public to focus their efforts on the area of the Emerald Forest. Public searches can be forwarded to the Whistler SAR via email whistler.sar@telus.net. The focus should be on Emerald Forest.
