Critical maintenance and repairs will be completed on 40-year-old sewer main sections in Whistler Village to prevent spills and backups. Two locations on the Village Stroll will undergo sewer central repairs in the spring of 2024. Construction will take place from April 30 to Friday, May 3.
The work will take approximately one day at each segment marked on the map below.
It will start at Segment 1 (in front of Il Caminetto), move to Segment 2 (across from Pangea Pod), then Segment 3 in Village Square, before moving on to Segment 4 (across from Tapley’s).
Construction impacts
Sewer and exhaust odour.
Loud noise during the sewer lining process, which tends to amplify within the Village Stroll corridor.
Construction vehicles are staged in front of some patio seating areas, likely needing to be closed due to noise and odour.
There will be congestion for pedestrians from construction vehicles and equipment working on the Village Stroll. Traffic control measures and personnel will be on site.
The work hours of operation are expected to be 7 am to 7 pm for four days, Tuesday through Friday.
“We’ve carefully chosen the optimal construction window to minimize inconvenience to our wonderful locals, visitors and businesses. We’re aiming for just a one-day turnaround in front of each building,” says RMOW. “Your patience and support is appreciated as we complete this project to keep our Village in top shape.”
