The Shell Mountainside Lodge in Whistler is up for sale through a court-ordered process, marking the first hotel transaction in the resort town since 2016.

Global commercial real estate firm Avison Young has been retained by BDO Canada Limited to manage the sale, with offers being accepted through a structured investment solicitation process (SISP).

Interested buyers must submit a non-binding bid by March 25, 2025, with a minimum bid of $12.18 million. Qualified bidders will advance to a second phase, where final offers will be considered by April 25. If multiple bids remain, an auction will occur by May 7, with the sale expected to close on May 29.

Located at 4417 Sundial Place, the 42-unit Shell Mountainside Lodge is three minutes from the Whistler Village Gondola. The property, currently operating as a timeshare, includes studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. Amenities feature an outdoor pool and hot tub, underground parking, ski and bike storage, a fitness center, and laundry facilities. Zoned for tourist accommodation, the site allows for up to eight storeys.

“This is truly a rare opportunity to own in the heart of Whistler Village, steps from North America’s largest ski resort,” said Curtis Gallagher, Vice President and Canadian Hospitality Lead at Avison Young. “We encourage investors to bring strong offers forward to be part of this highly desirable tourism market,” said Bijan Lalji, Senior Associate with Avison Young’s Capital Markets Group.

We own a Time Share in. Mountain side lodge, how does the sale effect us.

Time share owner as well. No idea how this will effect us (unlikely that anyone knows at this point) but it is unlikely to be positive in the final analysis.
